Privacy and legal notice
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Short version: the app does not send your data anywhere, and this website only keeps your email if you leave it so we can let you know.
1. Who is responsible
The person responsible for this website and for the Sharks application is Lucía Quijada, based in Spain.
For anything about your data, write to luciaquijada@sharks-app.es.
2. What data this website handles
- Your email address, only if you type it into the updates form.
- What you tell me if you send me an email: your address and the content of the message.
- Technical data about the visit recorded by the hosting provider (IP address, date, page requested and browser), needed to serve the site and protect it.
The website uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixels. It only stores in your own browser whether you prefer the light or the dark theme; that never leaves your computer.
3. What it is used for, and on what basis
- To email you about Sharks releases and news. Basis: your consent, given when you tick the box and submit the form.
- To answer what you write to me. Basis: your own request.
- To serve the website and keep it safe. Basis: legitimate interest in it working and not being attacked.
It is used for nothing else: it is not sold, not passed to third parties for their own purposes, and no profiles are built.
4. How long it is kept
- The email for updates, until you unsubscribe. You can do so at any time by replying to any update or writing to me, and I will delete it.
- Messages you send me, for as long as it takes to help you and no more than one year after.
- The hosting provider’s technical logs, for the short period that provider sets.
5. Who else is involved
To run the service I work with providers that process data on my behalf and only for that purpose:
- Vercel Inc., website hosting.
- DonDominio (Soluciones Corporativas IP, S.L.), domain and mailbox.
- Formspree, Inc., the form service that receives your address when you sign up and delivers it to my mailbox.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, it is under the safeguards required by the General Data Protection Regulation, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Your rights
At any time you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, take it to another service, and withdraw your consent. Just write to luciaquijada@sharks-app.es; I will answer within one month at most.
If you think I have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the authority in your country.
7. What the application does with your data
Sharks is a desktop application that runs on your computer. It has no accounts and no servers of its own.
- Your projects, tasks, hours and settings are stored in files on your computer, in a folder you control.
- The password vault is encrypted with your master password, which is not stored anywhere. Nobody else can open it, and neither can I.
- The application sends no usage statistics, no error reports and no identifier of yours.
- To tell you a new version exists, it checks the public releases page on GitHub. That request carries none of your data, although GitHub sees the IP address it comes from, like any website. You can turn it off in Settings.
- If you connect GitHub, Jira or Google, the application talks directly to that service with your own account, and only to read. What that service does with your data is governed by its own policy.
8. Children
This website and the application are not aimed at children under 14. If you are younger, do not leave your email without permission from a parent or guardian.
9. Legal notice
Sharks, its name, its logo, the design of the application and the text and images on this website belong to Lucía Quijada. All rights reserved.
The application is offered free of charge and as is. I do my best to make it work well and look after your data, but I cannot guarantee it is free of errors; keep copies of what matters to you, and the application itself helps you do that.
Third-party names and trademarks shown here (GitHub, Jira, Google, Windows, macOS and others) belong to their owners and are mentioned only to explain what Sharks works with.
10. Changes to this page
If the way data is handled changes, I will update this page and the date above. If the change affects you in an important way and I have your email, I will tell you first.
